There’s been a lot of buzz about “coffee inhalers”, most notably the brand name AeroShot. Each lipstick-sized application contains 100mg of caffeine, which as similar products (No Doz, 5 Hour Energy) say is like a cup of coffee. Chronic earaches can cause hearing loss and other developmental complications, but the usual response is a prescription for antibiotics. In the past three decades obesity rates have doubled, so it’s no surprise that sugar substitutes have gained in popularity. There is a trade off for zero calorie sweeteners, however, and it may overshadow the apparent benefits.
Aspartame was developed in the 1960s, and has since been linked to several health conditions. In fact, aspartame accounts for 75% of all adverse reactions to food additives (Anrig 27)!
